Negative emotion is a proven barrier to math learning, whether it stems from general stress, math anxiety, stereotype threat, or external physical or social stressors. Research in mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy gives us proven strategies to provide students with coping mechanisms for multiple age groups, allowing for implementation at a school-wide level, K-12. This updated workshop will cover some of the most recent research as well as provide teachers and coaches with practice with effective strategies, broken down by grade level.
