Teaching basic math facts using a strategic approach not only develops mastery of the basic facts, but also provides the foundation for conceptual understanding of the operations themselves. Further, the very same strategies that are used to learn basic math facts can be applied when using larger numbers and even decimals and fractions.  In this workshop, we will review the hierarchy of strategies within addition, subtraction, and multiplication and then explore these strategies using a variety of math tools. Resources and games will be explored that provide purposeful practice of these strategies as well. We truly have the opportunity to change the entire math journey for our students!
